On August 10, 2006 a terrorist plot to blow up as many as 10 jets leaving Britain for the U.S. was intercepted. Immediately, U. S. Homeland Security restricted any type of liquid, gel or aerosol from traveling in-cabin on any flight. Restrictions were eventually loosened to the regulated sizes we know today, which still greatly affect which and how many hair care products can be taken on board.

Current Regulations

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority reports specific security measures for carry-on baggage that is consistent with other worldwide transportation authorities. The restrictions state:
